David Walliams dropped by book publisher.
Acclaimed writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, as confirmed by the firm.
An official for the publisher commented: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the move was made after an inquiry regarding allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at young women.
The company did not confirm the motivations for this action, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."
An Illustrious Literary Career
Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies internationally in dozens of tongues.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.
Several of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.
To date, he has released over four dozen titles combined, which features a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.
Television and Literature
His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE in 2017 for his services to charity and the arts.
This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
